BRUCE ANTON
Bruce Anton has spent over 20 years as a criminal defense attorney in Dallas.
He has tried every type of criminal case in both state and federal court ranging
from DWI's to homicides to complex white collar cases. Mr. Anton also maintains
an active criminal appellate practice in state and federal court and additionally
represents clients in post-conviction writ matters.
Mr. Anton has been Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal
Specialization since 1986. He is also affiliated with NORML.
He is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of Texas, as well as
all federal courts in Texas and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth,
Tenth and Eleventh Circuits and the United States Supreme Court.
In 1979, Mr. Anton received his law degree from S.M.U. where he was the Russell
Baker Moot Court Champion and served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Air
Law and Commerce. He was also a Regional Finalist in the National Mock Trial
Competition and participated in the International Moot Court Competition. He
received a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude from Bradley University in 1975
with a major in Economics.
Mr. Anton served as briefing attorney for the Dallas County District Courts in
1979 and 1980 before entering private practice as a defense attorney. From 1994
to 1996, he was the chairman of the Texas Mock Trial Committee and has spoken at
legal seminars on various topics, including the immigration consequences of
criminal convictions and racial profiling. Mr. Anton is a Fellow of the Texas
Bar Foundation and a Sustaining Life Fellow of the Dallas Bar Association.
His bar memberships include the Dallas Bar Association, State Bar of Texas,
Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Dallas County Criminal Defense
Lawyers Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
He is also the representative for the Federal District Courts for the Northern
District of Texas to the Criminal Justice Act panel.
